From the recording Just Another Pretty Face
A bit of ancient history...This is the first commercially recorded version of what would later on become huge international hit called No Podras. Hollis Gentry's band Neon recorded it in San Diego, California and released the CD in 1987 with Hollis on tenor sax, Kiko Cibrian on guitar, I played the bass, Randy Porter on keyboards and Johnny Castaneda on drums. I called this intrumental version Just Another Pretty Face. I wrote the music in 1977 in a tiny apartment in the Winterhude section of Hamburg, Germany where I lived for a while after leaving or more accurately defecting from communist Czechoslovakia just a year before that.
